Early for the Letter

Description

Well, after reading Deathly Hallows, it was a bit upseting that the series is over, so just for fun I am choosing scenes from each book at random and drawing them. This scene is from Sorceror's Stone where Vernon and Harry were getting a bit obsessive about the mysterious letters. Now I know that Vernon does not look like "movie" Vernon, but I must admit that Richard Griffiths plays him perfectly, but JKR did describe Vernon with dark hair. Oh, and I forgot that this scene takes place early in the morning, but in my pic it looks like almost midday. God, I miss 11 year old Harry! Anyways, enjoy!

The repaired alarm clock rang at 6 o'clock the next morning. Harry turned it off quickly and dressed silently. He musn't wake the Dursleys. He stole downstairs without turning on any of the lights.
He was going to wait for the postman on the corner of Privet Drive and get the letters for number four first. His heart hammered as he crept across the dark hall toward the front door-
"AAAAARRRGH!"
Harry leapt into the air; he'd trodden on something big and squashy on the doormat - something alive!
Lights clicked on upstiars and to his horror Harry realized that the big, squashy something had been his uncle's face. Uncle Vernon had been lying at the foot of the door in a sleeping bag, clearly making sure that Harry didn't do exactly what he'd been trying to do.

When I read this in the book for the very first time, I laughed so hard! I wish they had put this in the movie because I'd have died laughing, than and Vernon wailing like a wounded hippo when Dudley eats the ton tongue toffee!
